What are the planned outcomes?
One of the core aims of Cre8 was to provide young people with skills that were identified as key to enabling them to participate fully in the decision-making processes within their communities. These skills were:
• Inclusive visioning
• Project management
• Leadership
• Breakthrough thinking
• Stakeholder management
• Analysis
• Decision making
• Communication
• Conflict resolution
• Citizenship, life skills and key skills.
Of these, citizenship and communication skills were identified as having been developed the most through participation in the project. Young people are also felt to have developed considerable confidence in their role in their communities.

Developing new, transferable skills as well as thinking about local issues
What is special about this project?
Young people have secured a ‘seat at the table’ in more than one of the Renaissance Towns: in one case, two participants in the project are now members of their Town Team; and in another, a separate young people’s forum has been established to provide a link between young people and the Town Team.
