Black Country as Urban Park
RegenWM Learning Laboratory

What were the outcomes?

Practitioners experienced the benefits of coming together to engage in facilitated reflective practice. For many this was a welcome change from a hectic working environment. Others experienced breakthroughs in personal development – understanding other perspectives and being able to work productively across them.

RegenWM also noted that people feel more equipped to work in partnership settings and across professions. Urban Park has made it through to the final stage of the Big Lottery bid and will now be competing with three other projects.

Key stakeholders are now better equipped to drive the changes to the landscape, industry and communities of the Black Country

RegenWM is now delivering its second Learning Lab to the North Staffordshire Regeneration Partnership (made up of the Regeneration Zone, RENEW Housing Market Renewal Area and Stoke City Council Regeneration Department). As a direct result of these two programmes, it is also delivering to the Urban Living Housing Market Renewal Area Pathfinder in Birmingham and Sandwell. The expanded programme includes masterclass events and good practice visits to leading projects.
