UK Coal is the landowner of the 300 Ha Waverley site in Rotherham, South Yorkshire and is in the process of preparing a masterplan and outline planning application for a mixed development scheme on the site.
Both UK Coal and the ASC were interested in examining the viability of using local people and businesses to finance, deliver and manage key elements of the development scheme, noticeably its social and green infrastructure.
The purpose of the resulting report was to assess the feasibility of UK Coal creating a ‘Waverley Community Trust’ as a key element of its masterplan proposal.
